Youth Violence Hits Home!

I spent the day at Lincoln High School with Counselors and students mourning the passing of Monique Ashley Palmer and Michael Taylor, Jr.

Both were in high school and getting ready for a promising future but tragically were gunned down over the weekend.  What do you say to teens when their peers pass away?  How do you support the family?  What words can express the loss of a parent?

Seeing youth pass before their time leaves an empty void for so many involved in their life.  During times like this adults need to listen and talk less.  Many times adults want to jump in and just say that "things are going to be okay" but sometimes silence leads to breakthrough.

My thoughts go out to the friends and family members  of Monique Palmer and Michael Taylor and Turning the Hearts Center is a resource to the community to bring a "turned heart" perspective to a sober situation!  May God's perfect peace be upon this situation.
